This is a total gem, probably the best Trek commercial I’ve seen. Nice little cherry on top that it’s selling something so thoroughly obsolete as a land-line based long distance plan.

I switched from my mainstay Fedora 32 with GNOME to KDE Neon about a month ago, after playing with a couple of desktop options. I’m about to go into the reboot after installing this update, but so far KDE plus Latte Dock has been a great place to live. I decided that even with the older release of Ubuntu, that the real goal for getting the latest packages was to get new destkop packages, and Neon is basically as fresh as it gets as far as that goes. Still, it’s nice they finally updated to 20.02.

I’d also make plans to not go in gas stations, use rest stops, not just outside of Myrtle Beach but basically in all of SC. I’d generally consider a straight-shot to the condo. I also think I’d do grocery delivery, Myrtle Beach sounds like a shitshow these days.

Considering they did release bootcamp, I would suggest that it’s not out of the question that they may eventually provide some kind of multi-boot support for ARM varients of Linux and Windows. I imagine it comes down to technical feasibility.

The last couple of seasons of Angel are legitimately better than the best of Buffy. If you don’t want to sit through the bad stuff maybe just follow Spike along when he jumps to that show.

Note

Season 1 of ENT has some great episodes, if you can sit through seven seasons of Voyager for one or two gems, you can definitely watch ENT which has more great episodes than bad ones.

A $40k car is super nice, I think I’d just give him the rest in cash if it’s not a money issue for you. A free car and he keeps all his cash seems totally in the spirit of things. I suppose if he wants to waste his cash on more car that’s on him.

Practically speaking, as soon as he speaks the words “Picard to Data”, the data connection is made. So you may be working with a 2-3 second delay, but this isn’t unheard of today in a video or voice call, so even with the initial delay it would hardly be noticable. Then consider they could cut silence or slightly speed up buffered audio until it catches up.

You’ll notice that everyone here is assuming the device runs Android. For most people, a device that isn’t running a mainstream OS like Android would be DOA. In that sense, ‘software’ is the main consideration in a phone purchase.
