I know, it’s needlessly confusing. I say just add Emulation Station and play most ROMs through that. Here’s how (from memory):

  1. Open Steam ROM Manager
  2. on the left-hand list enable the “Emulators” one
  3. then click the top “Preview” link near the top of the sidebar
  4. Click “Generate App List”
  5. It should add a bunch of emulators, make sure Emulation Station is in the list
  6. Save so it stores it in Steam
  7. Then, go into steam
  8. delete the other emulator entries because you only care about ES
  9. Launch Emulation Station, and your ROMs should be here

Gym etiquette is pretty clear in this regard, people basically are an island unto themselves, and the less interaction the better; you shouldn’t even be looking in people’s directions if you can avoid it. Sounds to me like a better gym is in order. Obviously, you don’t want to confront this creep, seems like the gym should either step up and deal with this without involving you or you should just find a place where this kind of thing isn’t an issue.

You really shouldn’t have told the poor girl she ruined the mood, it doesn’t seem true and obviously, even if she did making her feel bad over it was unhelpful. So YTA in my book.

It’s a nice thought, but the self-congratulatory element like she discovered fire makes me roll my eyes. This is how my org handles these things too, a superhero was born and their contribution was suggesting we all slack off for 45 minutes.

The beauty of this troll is people don’t actually care what it looks like, they refuse to use it for cause. But adding 21st-century graphics to these headsets gives Zuckerburg something to do for a while. Ironically, there is some cool stuff in Horizon Worlds, but it’s obvious that conventional VR will be blown away by AR in the next few years so nobody bothers.

I found Noom to be quite helpful at first, it’s methods are very useful and I’ve lost like 60 pounds so far following them. I don’t like it’s app though, and once it started to not work on my phone I switched to MyFitnessPal. The noom methodology emphasises education and thoughtfulness, which once you learn what they are teaching you really can’t help but view things differently. Once you are armed with the knowledge, I think it’s fine to abandon noom for cheaper apps. Also, if you try and cancel their retention discounts are so good they may change your mind.

I skipped ahead and was like “how are these two grandpas going to talk about esports” but then I realized that Excel wasn’t the brand of those holding the competition… it’s a competition about who can use Microsoft Excel the best? I don’t know, I tuned out immediately after I realized what I was watching.

Note

I’d check out MyFitnessPal and do the calculations yourself. At its best, Noom gave me very liberal calorie goals that never felt right. When the app was down a month or two ago, I was given something insane like 4400 calories when it came back. Noom was great initially, but it’s best to do your own math and keep on it in the long term.

This happened to me too, set as “delivered” on Wednesday. I took the day off to play with it, so pretty devastating. FedEx has been no help, they were supposed to call yesterday with some updates to the investigation. I have asked Valve support to initiate the lost package procedure FedEx mentioned. Very frustrating to say the least, seems like they set themselves up for failure and I shouldn’t be expected to pay for it.

All too relatable. The real kicker is that WebAgency probably _did_ enter this with the best of intentions. Individual contributors care a lot, and the CEO cares a lot, but they aren’t the ones planning and resourcing everything. Agencies are good when a big company needs someone to do their thinking for them through a long-term relationship. Even then, there’s no crystal ball as to whether a relationship is a good idea, will be successful, or if the work will be any good. For individuals, it’s hard to ever recommend an agency, like with anything I think it’s better to play a bigger role in the day-to-day and drive it yourself.

I don’t think Isaac was doing anything malicious or trying to rip you off, but even without intent, the result is the same. One thing I’ve learned about Agencies is that they typically rationalize failures away from themselves. They typically see themselves practicing a set of processes and sell others on the idea that the process is perfected. This is what leads people to these hair-brained “well if you’d sign a retainer, then things would go smoother!”
